I am a 29-year-old director and screenwriter based in Helsinki, Finland.
I graduated from Metropolia UAS with a bachelor's degree in filmmaking in 2021. As a graduation film I self-funded, wrote and directed "Primal Therapy", a short film that was screened in over 30 festivals globally, and awarded in festivals such as Tampere Film Festival, Cottbus Film Festival, and Manchester Film Festival. The film is currently streaming in Yle Areena. My recent works include writing and directing two seasons of "Spiraali", a short-form comedy series, which focuses on climate crisis and capitalism. It was one of the most-watched series on Yle Areena Stories platform, and it is currently also streaming in Yle Areena. In 2021 I participated in Uneton48 short film competition as a writer & director, and received the main Jury Prize, Best Screenplay and Best Acting with a short film "Kulkukortti".
I have an affinity for comedy and absurdity. The former offers a way to address serious topics in an entertaining way, while the latter can create something relatable yet totally unexpected. I believe that laughter has the power to unify diverse audiences, and directing it toward forms of societal dissonance can be very revealing.
When I'm not making films, you can find me doing music and photography.
